Books & gear I recommend
A short list of things I actually use. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Hercules DS530BB Alto/Tenor Saxophone Stand — the stand I recommend for anyone performing on stage. Second to none, no comparison.
- Neumann TLM 102 Condenser Mic — what I actually use on stage and in the studio.
- Apple iPad Pro 13-inch (M5) — what I use for sheet music now. No stand light, no printing.
- More of my gear, reeds, mouthpieces, and studio setup: the full recommended gear list →
The Whole Horn
The interactive programs above grew into a full app: The Whole Horn — a practice studio for wind players and any instrument that reads. Every scale in every key, with the transposition done correctly: a B♭ trumpet reads B major and hears A; a timpanist gets bass clef in real range. It is the same method as the books, built into software.
